IV. How do you remember it?
The idea of a solo for piece for clarinet made me think about conversation and set in motion ideas about different approaches to interaction. The first movement is a the most like a soliloquy, perhaps with a dose of yearning for that other person. I’m pretty sure the second movement concerns secrets. The third movement is social and falls into a kind of dance, with predictability on the table. The last movement returns to a more private space, wondering whether memories match.
